Audition Dates:  April 5th, 6th, and 7th at 7:00 p.m.

Play Runs:  May 28 – June 20 with possible extension.  There is a special Tuesday performance on June 8th.

Plaza Suite is a Neil Simon comedy/drama done in 3 separate acts.  It explores 3 separate relationships as they experience their changing relationships and their individual needs.  I am looking for actors who are excellent line studies as Neil Simon is a stickler for precise line delivery.

The rehearsal schedule will alternate between the 3 separate acts giving the actors ample time to work with each other developing character, timing and relationships.

Although Neil Simon characters appear broad, they are not caricatures. This show moves from broad comedy to very moving serious moments.  As an actor, you should be able to interpret the difference between their outward personalities and their internal depth as individuals.  There is also a great deal of physical comedy in this show as well.

Audition Facts

Olympia Little Theatre’s audition procedures are generally as follows, but may vary at the discretion of the Director:

Auditions are typically held the first Monday and Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. following the opening of the previous play. You do not have to attend both nights of auditions, but you are welcome to read both nights of auditions if you’d like. If callbacks are necessary, they are held on Wednesday evening of that same week.

Audition appointments are not necessary unless you are unable to attend auditions on the regularly scheduled days and times. In that case, you must contact the Director to schedule a separate audition appointment time.

Headshots and resumes are welcome at auditions, but are not necessary.

Auditions consist of cold readings from the script. You do not need to have prepared monologues. Scripts for the current season’s plays are available at the Tumwater, Olympia, and Lacey branches of the Timberland Library. You may ask for a copy of the script at the information desk. Scripts are only available for use at the library and may not be checked out.

Rehearsals are typically Monday through Thursday. Performances are typically Thursday through Sunday. Additional rehearsals are at the Director’s discretion. Special performances are typically on Tuesdays.

Olympia Little Theatre is a community theater and you need not have any previous experience, just passion and commitment!
